Ok, so I play guitar, now where are the babes?

So ever since I started listening to good music, I've always wanted learn to play guitar. Well, seven months ago, I did, and let me tell you, it is the most redeeming hobby I've ever developed.
I'll start by saying that the reason for me learning to play wasn't for the babes. I have no good experiences with the chicas. Even though I did get my first girlfriend within the last seven months, it had nothing to do with my guitar skills (sadly, she did break up with me ;_; Six months ago actually, but that's neither here nor there.) But, what I want to say is that most people don't realize that music is an art, and most of us don't even appreciate how much work has gone into it sometimes. This is why so much of the music we hear on the radio sounds so one-dimensional. It's pretty upsetting, all of my peers believe that what they've been listening to is the shit, and they refuse to listen to anything that is longer than 3 minutes and lacks a catchy hook.
I'm not saying that there isn't any good music anymore when there is, in fact, an abundance of it.
What's that? Make a list? Okay!
Wilco!
Radiohead!
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club!
Kings Of Leon (Mostly their older stuff, we'll see about their new album in 2 weeks...)
The Strokes! (Again, we'll see about their new stuff next year...)
Queens of the Stone Age!
Vampire Weekend!
Silversun Pickups!
Interpol!
Fleet Foxes!

Now back to the main point of this post: GUITAR.
I would like to say, I freaking love whatever time I have with a guitar in my hand. I used to play a lot of video games, mostly rock band and guitar hero, but not anymore! The only time my PS3 gets touched is whenever I want to watch a DVD, and I'm actually looking into selling it for some cash towards a new acoustic, the one I've got now, an Epiphone DR-100, is nice but I really want to upgrade, seeing as it is a sort of entry level guitar. I currently own 3 guitars, the aforementioned DR-100, a classical acoustic gifted to me by my aunt in mexico (artisan made ftw) and my favorite, an Epiphone dot with a cherry red finish (SO SEXY)
(This isn't mine, I just froogled up an image)

I guess that's it, so if you'd like to share some of the bands you like that are out there, feel free to share them in the comments!

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club: Take Them On, On Your Own.

What can I say? These guys are awesome.
The first time I had the privilege to listen to them was actually in a guitar hero game (Yeah I know...) But I decided to check out some of their other stuff. So I got my hands on a copy of Take Them On, On Your Own. After my first listen, I thought to myself, "Rock and roll isn't dead." and proceeded to squeal with joy. Seriously, listen to this album, it is amazing, it's heavy, it's psychedelic, and it's sweet.
Now i'm not really one to go and say "OMG, this whole album is just so awesome, I could listen to it for the rest of my life!!!!1!!" And I won't, instead I will say that this album is a gateway into the amazingness that is Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. If you decide to listen to a band you've never heard of, do yourself a favor and check this baby out.
